Honeywell's RTP Hall-effect rotary position sensors are suitable for a variety of transportation and industrial applications. By separating the magnet from the sensor body, the sensor takes non-contact sensing to a new level. The absence of an actuator shaft eliminates bearing wear due to radial forces. The RTP series offers a choice of bare or built-in magnets. Honeywell's RTP sensor uses magnetically biased Hall-effect integrated circuits to sense the rotary motion of the actuator within a set operating range. Rotation of the actuator changes the position of the magnet relative to the IC. The resulting change in magnetic flux density is converted into a linear output. The IC, regulation, and protection circuits are all sealed in a rugged IP69K-certified package to maintain durability in most harsh environments. Eight working ranges from 50 degrees to 360 degrees allow overtravel and allow use in a wide range of transportation and industrial applications. The low and high voltage versions have an input voltage range of 4.5VDC to 30VDC.
