Power Integrations introduced the InnoSwitch-EP series of offline CV / CC flyback switching ICs. The new IC series features integrated 725V MOSFETs, synchronous rectification and accurate secondary-side feedback sensing control, which provides excellent multi-output cross-regulation, full line protection and transient transient response, and no-load power consumption is less than 10mW. InnoSwitch-EP IC uses Power Integrations' innovative FluxLink technology to produce efficient, very accurate and reliable power circuits without the need for optocouplers for auxiliary and home appliances, HVAC, consumer electronics, computing, telecommunications and data communications applications backup power. Doug Bailey, vice president of marketing for Power Integrations, said: "Our switching ICs have long been considered auxiliary and backup power because of their proven ruggedness and the inherent reliability benefits of highly integrated equipment. Increasingly demanding total energy consumption (TEC) regulations are challenging engineers to find ways to reduce system power consumption in all modes of operation. The InnoSwitch-EP IC is an easy-to-implement solution that improves power efficiency from standby to full load, providing designers with a solution to TEC regulations New tools. " The use of FluxLink technology enables high-performance secondary-side control with the simplicity and reduced component count typically associated with primary-side regulation. This allows the use of highly efficient synchronous rectification techniques to achieve extremely high performance over the entire load range including heavy loads. For example, the InnoSwitch-EP IC supports a 20W power supply to achieve approximately 90% efficiency in a multi-output design, while reducing no-load power consumption to less than 30mW. The line over-voltage adjustment is very accurate, +/- 5%, and +/- 5% OCP adjustment is also available. InnoSwitch-EP ICs improve power supply reliability by reducing the bill of materials (BOM) and eliminating photocouplers that decrease over time. The low voltage drop on the synchronous rectifier FET ensures high-precision cross-regulation between the output voltage rails, making it possible to eliminate the second-stage linear regulator, thereby saving cost and energy waste. This makes it ideal for applications in household appliances such as microwave ovens, washing machines and dryers, as well as backup power supplies for PCs / servers, air conditioning systems, displays, TVs and smart lighting ballasts. The InnoSwitch-EP IC also enables designers to meet the monitor's new ENERGY STAR 7 efficiency standard. The company said that samples are now available.
