TE Connectivity has introduced its STRADA Whisper Direct Insert Orthogonal (DPO) connector, which helps designers eliminate midplane connections, reduce costs and improve airflow in switches, servers, base stations and other types of communications equipment. This connector is an extension of the company's STRADA Whisper backplane connector family. The Whisper series was developed for high-performance, high-bandwidth systems. It uses a revolutionary design that can transmit data at an amazing speed of 25Gbps and provides unparalleled scalability up to 56Gbps (PAM4 and NRZ), enabling engineers to Redesign the backplane or midplane for effective future system upgrades without the expense.
Suitable applications include servers and storage, switches, routers, optical transmission and wireless infrastructure.
