LMT70 is a new product from Texas Instruments. It is an ultra-small, high-precision, low-power CMOS analog temperature sensor with output enable pins. The device is suitable for almost any type of temperature sensing that requires cost-effective, high accuracy and low power consumption, such as Internet of Things (IoT) sensor nodes, medical thermometers, high-precision instruments and battery-powered devices. LMT70 is also an ideal replacement for RTD and precision NTC / PTC thermistors. The device's output enable pin allows multiple LMT70s to share an ADC channel, simplifying ADC calibration and reducing the overall system cost for accurate temperature detection. The LMT70 also has linear and low-impedance outputs, making it seamlessly connectable to off-the-shelf MCUs / ADCs. LMT70 has a dissipation of less than 36µW, has ultra-low self-heating characteristics, and supports high accuracy over a wide temperature range. The LMT70A provides unmatched temperature matching performance of 0.1C (maximum) for two adjacent LMT70A picked from the same tape and reel. Therefore, LMT70A is the ideal solution for energy metering applications that require heat transfer calculations.
