Vishay has introduced the first three devices in its new 1 Form A VOR hybrid solid state relay family. They are designed to provide high reliability and noiseless switching for telecommunications, industrial, security systems and metering applications. The new VOR1142A6, VOR1142B6 and VOR1142M4 replace traditional mechanical relays with lower reliability and shorter service life. They can provide high input to output isolation, current limit protection and low power consumption. The relay is a normally open single pole single throw (SPST) switch. These devices have simple custom features and use a modular structure, including GaAIAs (gallium aluminum arsenide) IRED drive control and MOSFETs for switching outputs. The single-channel relay is packaged in DIP-6 (VOR1142A6), SMD-6 (VOR1142B6) and SOP-4 (VOR1142M4). Devices in the SMD-6 and DIP-6 packages provide a high isolation test voltage of 5300 V / 1 minute, while devices in the smaller SOP-4 provide an isolation test voltage of 3750 V / 1 minute. All relays have a low typical on-resistance of 22 ohms, a high load current of 140 mA, a load voltage of 400 V, and a very low on-current of 0.25 mA (typical). The device is VDE and UL approved to meet the enhanced insulation requirements in most applications. With electronic isolation, the VOR1142A6, VOR1142B6 and VOR1142M4 provide clean, bounce-free switching in an ambient temperature range of -40C to + 100C. Typical applications include line, load, ground, signal and alarm switches. I / O card; ground isolation; electromechanical noise isolation; automation; automatic test equipment; and motor drivers. The company said the devices are available in tape and reel packaging, RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
