Vishay announced that its RCP series of thick film chip resistors are suitable for high power, surface mount RF applications and are now available in compact 0505, 0603 and 2512 case sizes. Vishay Dale devices have high thermal conductivity and active temperature control with power ratings up to 22W. The RCP series resistors are optimized for many applications in the automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, and telecommunications markets, with stable thick film resistor elements on aluminum nitride (AlN) substrates, and have epoxy packages. In addition to the new enclosure size, the existing 1206 enclosure has also been enhanced to provide 2.4W of rated power through standard board mounting. These devices have an operating temperature range of -55C to + 155C. RCP series resistors have a resistance range of 10ohm to 2kohm, tolerances are ± 2% and ± 5%, and TCR is ± 100ppm / C. To improve solderability, the device is available with tin / lead and lead-free surround terminals on a nickel barrier. The company stated that the resistor is RoHS compliant 2011/65 / EU and is halogen-free according to the JEDEC JS709A definition.
